Alaska Tribal Transportation Working Group

ATTWG is organized for the purpose of providing technical support and advocacy for transportation issues that impact Alaska Native Villages and to conduct any other lawful business or endeavor permitted under the laws of the State of Alaska to a corporation incorporated under the Alaska Nonprofit Corporation Act.

FHWA Tribal Technical Assistance Program (TTAP)

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Office of Transportation Workforce Development and Technology Deployment manages a Tribal Technical Assistance Program (TTAP) to provide technical assistance and training to tribal governments.

Intertribal Transportation Association 

The Intertribal Transportation Association (ITA) that promotes training, advocacy, and information, and facilitates meetings between tribes and local, state and federal agencies. Its mission is to foster excellence, effectiveness, and unity in Tribal Transportation by providing Tribal Leadership tools and resources to address the needs of their members. ITA annual meetings are usually held in December.

National Transportation in Indian Country Conference (NTICC)

NTICC is a transportation conference for tribes, by tribes, offering relevant training as well as engagement with federal officials and tribal transportation peers. NTICC provides information and resources for all who are committed to improving transportation infrastructure and safety in Indian Country. The annual conference is usually held in August or September.

National Local Technical Assistance Program Association (NLTAPA)

NLTAPA is a non-profit organization representing and serving the 52 Local Technical Assistance Programs (LTAP) and Tribal Technical Assistance Programs (TTAP) Member-Centers in the United States and Puerto Rico.

Rocky Mountain Region Tribal Leaders Council

RMTLC is dedicated to improving health, economic development and education for Tribes throughprograms, policy recommendations, and Tribal Leader meetings. RMTLC also coordinates advocacy and promotes similar interests of member Tribes through various collaborative initiatives and projects.

The Rural Opportunities to Use Transportation for Economic Success (ROUTES) Initiative prioritizes the needs of rural America by supporting rural transportation policy and equitable access for rural and Tribal communities that face challenges relating to transportation safety, mobility, and economic development.

Improving Rail in Rural Communities

The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) is committed to improving rail safety and service in communities across the country. Several FRA programs target rural communities (this term includes grantees in designated rural areas and federally recognized Indian Tribes) for rail infrastructure investment and improvement.
