As Seen On ITE Talks Transportation

Robin Phillips, Executive Director of the National Rural Transit Assistance Program (RTAP), discusses the challenges of delivering safe and effective public transportation in rural and tribal areas, and highlights some of the challenges faced by these communities, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. National RTAP serves as a training and technical assistance resource for agencies across the United States to facilitate more efficient use of public transportation resources, and Phillips highlights how the program works to ensure a high quality of life for communities through access to jobs, healthcare, education, shopping, and other services.

An Interview with Christy Warner

Christy Warner, administrator of Kimball County Transit Service in Kimball, Nebraska, talks transit with National RTAP Executive Director Robin Phillips.  Many pieces had come together for Christy to take her one bus, one driver, one county system to attend bus 14 driver in five county system in just three years. But the larger fleet and staff, Christy has learned to be resourceful, listened to her community, and use technology wisely. We'll meet Christy and talk about how technology has revolutionized her system and her relationship with her drivers, one of whom just happens to be her daughter.
