John Filippone is the Principal for Filippone Consulting LLC in Colorado.  John has been involved in rural and resort transit for over 40 years (29+ at Roaring Fork Transportation Authority, Aspen CO), starting as a part-time operator and working through the ranks as a trainer, Lead Driver, Supervisor, Dispatcher, Scheduler, Training Supervisor to Safety and Training Manager for a 300+ staff rural/resort transit agency.   John served on the Colorado RTAP advisory committee for over 20 years as and is a past Chairman of the National RTAP Review Board. He has certificates in Safety, Security, Training and Supervision from both TSI and CTAA as well as a 30-hour OSHA card for General Industry.  John was a Colorado Third Party CDL Skills Tester for 16 years.  He is a former certified instructor for Defensive Driving (National Safety Council DDC and Smith System). John is currently a certified PASS Instructor and was the Developer of the Colorado Association of Transit Agencies' Defensive Driver Operator Training Certificate (DDTOC) program designed specifically for transit. He has an Associate of Liberal Arts with an Outdoor Leadership Emphasis from Colorado Mountain College. John has also taught wilderness survival, whitewater rafting, soccer coaching and refereeing as well as coaching youth and adult soccer.  A more extensive list of work history and certifications is available on request.
