The Transportation Association of Maryland (TAM) is a statewide organization that is dedicated to improving mobility for all of Maryland's citizens. TAM is a viable and effective advocate for its members and provides professional development, training, and forums for the pursuit of excellence in public transportation by public, private, and specialized transportation providers. During FY 2012 TAM Members (excluding the Maryland Transit Administration) provided more than THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY-SIX MILLION (356,791,782) one-way passenger trips and operated over FIVE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-THREE MILLION (523,239,058) passenger miles to connect people to jobs, medical services, nutrition programs, education facilities and recreation centers. In the calendar year 2011 the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) provided over ONE HUNDRED AND NINE MILLION (109,743,301) one-way passenger trips and operated SEVEN HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIVE MILLION (725,407,608) passenger miles to connect people to their communities and to critical services throughout the state.
TAM represents every jurisdiction in the state of Maryland and has a very diverse membership of over 80 organizations.
