Peoplerides Drivers Wanted!

Peoplerides is taking applications for a part-time driver position in the Region 6 area--Hardin, Marshall, Poweshiek, and Tama County. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to transporting elderly or disabled persons. Successful applicant will have great people skills, a good driving record, and be capable of transferring and securing passengers in wheelchairs. Peoplerides is an equal opportunity employer. Region 6 Planning Commission, headquartered in Marshalltown, is a voluntary association of local governments established in 1974 to provide member communities with professional services in the areas of comprehensive planning, access to federal and state transportation funding, housing assistance, public transit services, and grant writing and administration.

Peoplerides, our public transit service, was established in 1974 to provide low-cost transportation for trips that either originate or end in Hardin, Marshall, Poweshiek, and Tama counties. Peoplerides drivers are licensed and trained to provide a safe, reliable, and comfortable ride. If you need a ride, click the Peoplerides logo above for more information about scheduling a ride.

Region 6 Planning Commission Updates

January 1, 2013 - The 2013 - 2018 Region 6 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy is complete and available for download in the Online Library and Regional Development Initiative webpage.
January 1, 2013 - The Region 6 office will be closed.
December 31, 2012 - The public comment period for the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy will end. For more information, please refer to the Regional Development Initiative website at this link: Regional Development Initiative.
December 24-25, 2012 - The Region 6 office will be closed.

Peoplerides Service Updates

March 6, 2013 - Progress Industries Route has been cancelled today.
February 27, 2013 - Peoplerides Rural Routes are cancelled today.

February 21, 2013 - Peoplerides Rural Routes are cancelled tomorrow

All Peoplerides rural routes on Friday, February 22, 3013 are cancelled due to pending bad weather.

January 30, 2013 - No Peoplerides service

Peoplerides will be closed for all out of town routes and rides on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 because of the bad weather.

January 28,2013 Hardin County service to ACCESS is CANCELLED
January 28,2013.
Hardin County service to ACCESS is delayed 2 hours. Passengers can expect to be picked up 2 hours after their scheduled time.
January 1, 2013- No Peoplerides service
December 21, 2012 - Limited Peoplerides service is available. Rural services will not be provided with the possible exception of Hardin Rural routes, which will be delayed two hours, and dialysis services, which will be provided if possible. Please call to find out if your area has service.
December 20, 2012 - Due to the major storm moving into the area, Peoplerides will not be operating any services. We hope to reinstate service Friday, December 21, 2012. Check the website for new service update, or contact Peoplerides.
