Performance Evaluation for Rural Transit Systems
Performance: It is the yardstick by which every business's success is measured. In rural transit, a mechanism to measure a system's performance addressing both social and financial goals is needed in order to make meaningful determinations about a system's efficiency, effectiveness and benefit to the community. Information from performance measures are useful in meeting Federal reporting requirements, transit grant applications, establish local budgets and determine insurance requirements.
This National RTAP Technical Brief, Performance Evaluation for Rural Transit Systems, provides technical assistance for transit organizations to measure performance. It was originally released in 2007 and updated in 2019.
