NATIONAL RTAP ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF PHOTO CONTEST,
PHOTOS ACROSS RURAL AND TRIBAL AMERICA
August 11, 2010, Waltham, MA - National RTAP is pleased to announce the winners of its first annual rural and tribal transit photo contest, Photos Across Rural and Tribal America.
The winners of our photo contest have been selected based on their photographic representation of rural and tribal transit in America. Their photos specifically encapsulated our selection criteria of creativity, composition, technical quality and overall impression.
Our Grand Prize Winner is Abbie Rittmiller, Communications Specialist with Eagle County Government, of Eagle, Colorado for her photo “Bluebird Skies,” taken at Beaver Creek Resort’s “Beaver Creek Landing.” She will receive a Canon Powershot S90.
Our second place winner is Curtis Raines, Bus Route/Fleet Maintenance Manager of the Klamath Tribes from Chiloquin, Oregon, for his photo “Blue Lake.” He will receive a $250 American Express Gift Cheque.
Honorable mentions include: David Peckler, Transportation Director of the Town of Snowmass Village, Snowmass Village, Colorado, for his photo “LF @ Divide”; Teresa Collins, Operations Manager of North Iowa Area Council of Governments from Mason City, Iowa, for her photo, "Riding the Storm Out"; and Melvin Desrocher, Maintenance Manager of First Transit, Inc. from Plattsburgh, New York, for his photo, Untitled (windmills).

National RTAP is a program of the Federal Transit Administration administered by the Neponset Valley Transportation Management Association and serves as the national arm for the Rural Transit Assistance Program (RTAP). The mission of National RTAP is to improve the mobility of all rural, small urban and tribal communities across the country through technical assistance.
